T40 blanking out.

One of my T40’s is starting to act up. It has got to the point if you even look at it wrong the screen goes blank. Just kidding but it does go blank just by typing one key or trying to move it. The laptop does not turn off or shutdown it just goes blank.

Today when I tried to boot up it gave one long and two short beeps. ”Video adapter”

Has something separated due to heat or is it on its last leg???

Anyone ever have the same symptom and is there a way to repair???
