What is the best RTS game for X40?
I would like to know which game is the best for x40 1.3Ghz 512mb Ram running XP Pro SP2.
I would like to find some game play on my x40 but afraid that it would make my system unstable. Moreover, most game nowaday are required to play with CD-ROm in place, but I do not want to darry x4 base around with me.
All suggestions are welcome.

Microsoft has a tool you can download for use with Windows XP. It makes a virtual CD drive from any CD you like. You can have many of them mounted at the same time (as different drives). It is "unsupported" so they offer no technical support for it.
Just rip the contents into a file, then mount the image, install from that image and the virtual drive will always be there.
MS's tool is ugly, but works.
Virtual CD is a spiffier tool that does the same thing and is free for personal use.

Thank you for your reply. I'll try the MS program for moutin disk and report back to the board.
However, regarding the game that is suitable for x40 performance, i do need some suggestion.
How about Civ III, Sim City 4 or Capitalism II?
Are these games too demanding for x40?

chintapun,
I don't have an X40, but love my X31. I play Warcraft 3 and Starcraft on it all the time. I love both. Might not work on X40 because of the video card, but hey Warcraft 3 worked on my 4-5 year graphics card. Namely the, Matrox Marvel (not so marvelous) G400.
For the 2nd question, you can use a free software like Daemon Tools that does the same thing as what whizkid suggested. I use it on protected games and it works (of course backups of my games!!!)... Link supplied below:

btw, I did not know MS made Virtual CD software...
