Is this hard drive compatible with my T60?

#1 Post by Sheridan Thinkpad » Sun Oct 07, 2007 3:07 pm

Hello all. First time poster here. I've had my T60 since April and am pretty happy with it (although definitely NOT happy with Vista, but that's another story). I am looking to upgrade my hard drive and was hoping to get some feedback on one drive in particular - the Western Digital Scorpio WD2500BEVS 250GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache Serial ATA150 Notebook Hard Drive. Here is a link to its product information at newegg.com:

I think I've gotten all my ducks in a row, but could someone chime and confirm for me that it is indeed compatible with my laptop? I plan on swapping it with my factory drive and reinstalling everything off recovery disks I have from Lenovo. Thanks a lot.

p.s. Incidentally I'll likely be selling my factory drive within a month of this swap so if anyone is interested let me know. It's a 100GB drive.

Yeah it should work. All laptop SATA drives are theoretically compatible with each other.

Thanks. I'm surprised more hasn't been written about this drive, and am looking forward to having 2.5 times as much storage as before.
