R50p inverter

#1 Post by pictux » Mon Oct 08, 2007 3:12 am

Hi all.
I own a r50p 1832-22g.
About one week ago, display start flickering, and yesterday start a black age ...
I smell also something burned.

Thinking to the inverter, following the Hardware maintenance guide, i remove that (it smelt burned).
On it there's a
P/N: 91P7299
FRU: 91P7336

Now, searching on eBay, i've found 2 inverter, one selled as 91P7299 at about 5 dollars
(http://cgi.ebay.it/IBM-LENOVO-THINKPAD- ... dZViewItem)

and one selled as 91P7336 at about 120 dollars
(http://cgi.ebay.it/IBM-91P7336-INVERTER ... dZViewItem)

Because of the great cost difference, i'd like to understand:
are the same product (selled by fru and by p/n)?
in my r50p the 5 dollars one ( :D ) is good?

Thanks and sorry for my poor english!
Regards

It's the same part, get the cheaper one. Good luck with your repair.
