To my surprise, my T4x atheros 802.11bg card works for my T21. It is missing the pair antennas that allow them to have better signal. So if anyone is selling one in the states, please let me know. The only ones I see are in China simular to this link.

LF: Internal antenna for atheros mini pci card
Thinkpad X60s
I purchased those antennas, trying to upgrade a T20 to wireless. The antennas work great, have a nice long wire to work with, but the lid of the T20 didn't allow signal to pass through very well. Eventually gave up.
You might want to discuss antenna placement with the guys in the T2x forum. I think they need to be placed in the palmrest for greatest connectivity, meaning much shorter cables can be used.
Don't think you'll get them any cheaper here in the states, shipping was pretty fast for the other side of the world.

Your best bet is to look for the factory screen assembly with wireless antennas, if such a thing exists for this unit. I've had bad luck trying to get signal with antenna wires fished up into the screen assembly, due to the aforementioned metal lid.
I have an X30 with an after market antenna under the keyboard. It works okay, but you have to watch the placement of the antenna wire. I had a strange issue with the mouse pointer moving randomly, and it turned out to be RF interference from the wireless card.
If you want something to play with, I have factory wireless antennas pulled from T40s available for very little cost. PM if interested.
