They don't have a how to guide for this or anything do they....
I take the spd will be stored on a chip on the panel ...
So one can just desloder and re program it but the problem is in getting the info to reprogram it with..

So we would just need to spd info off a 15" uxga panel and reprogram to the 14" panel

I think ..

At 60 with a uxga would just be soo awesome...

Gonna have a browse around and see if any materials out there on this in english

LCD Panel sale UXGA 14"

#33 Post by amuraivel » Tue Dec 11, 2007 12:33 pm

I am selling the panel: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZamuraivel

I give up on the project with my model. Hopefully someone with a 14" t42 can upgrade.

If you are a member of this forum with 10+ posts. I will throw in the 15" cable for only 10USD extra.

Thanks for the help though everyone.

This looks somewhat similiar to one topic we've discussed before.
see this http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=49078

As xyz said, that chinese forum has now set up a board discussing in English which may includes some useful information for you.

I find a thread rather informative.

yes thats about it, exceelent find,

They have attached the spd file needed and you just need an idea of the programmer used then it should be plain sailing joy :)

Hey amuraivel you shud give it a try if you are up to it.
No point in calling it day when you are so close.

(Sorry there's only chinese version yet.)
Installing UXGA on T60 is absolutely doable.

Wish you good luck

The SPD file attached is for QXGA.UXGA one wasn't provided.
I guess that one can read the SPD information of 15' UXGA out and write it into a 14' UXGA to make it work.

Thanks to our chinese friends, we have a hint that this is doable, but I am not sure:
a. What this entails on a practical level.
b. Even if it did have 15" UXGA firmware whether it would be compatible.

1. we need to program the uxga panel with the spd info.

Seems it doesn;t work due to it not havin the required paramters in the spd.

Some kind of programmer is needed.. the points are given in the post before on the chinese site.

I believe once we have the correct parameters it will work.

Now just need to source a reasonably priced t60p lol... to try this out,

the programmer needed to read the code and write the code is a 'EPROM reader 24C02'

Here is a link to a programmer that would do the job
