anyway to upgrade from Quadro NVS 140m to FX 570m?

I have a Thinkpad T61, and though I love it, I'm kind of regretting not getting the p model with the better video card. From what I understand, these cards are PCI-e. Is it possible to replace the NVS 140m card with the FX 570m? I haven't found anywhere that sells the mobile video card though.

andy's correct.   if the "helpful" answer you're looking for is a simple chip replacement then no one will be of much help.   since the GPU is permanently soldered onto the planar, the only options are to a) buy a new planar or b) buy a new T61p with the desired GPU.

I agree, it's regretable but true.
The GPU is on board, maybe a wizard at soldering could swap out the chips, but I don't think that's a simple or easy solution.

You can put a compatible card in the advanced dock for other purposes.

The cards use the PCI-E bus but are not in a PCI-E form factor. Like others have said, they are soldered on so unless you want to replace the enter motherboard you're pretty much out of luck.
