Refer to my first thread about the trash can t-23.

Now that my TP which up to this point, I use for nothing more than a glorified checkbook since I can't get a keystroke in edgewise on the family computer, I am looking to see if I can find out what is wrong with the original motherboard.

Question, must I take my now working t-23 apart and put the screen on the original motherboard,

or can I plug my shop monitor into the vga port on the back and use that instead?

I understand about the keypad, and that's not as big a deal as the screen, I was just hoping not to have to take my computer all apart again.

My personal philosophy is that the more you mess with something, the more likely it is that you'll break it. as my son is learning the hard way.

Is your other board still in a base? I would assume so, because the VGA port isn't connected to the board itself.

According to ray, you can attach the base to a dock and turn the power on through the dock....but, I haven't tried this.

Yes you can put the base on a docking station and turn it on that way. Even without a keyboard on the base. I use one like that as a test bed. I have no keyboard on the base. I attach keyboard and mouse to the docking station and use the base to test other manufacturers CD’s, DVD’s, CD/RW DVD’s and floppies. To test other Mfg’s just take there connecter off and put on an IBM connector. Works great.
