T-23 Wireless Woes

T-23 Wireless Woes.
tonight i fire up my junk no internet. i have a wireless network in my house on all the time (dsl) so i go to network connections-view
wireless conections and end up with a code 10 device can not start. next at device manager i uninstall the built in card and reboot
goes to new found hardware and ends up at code 10 again.
next i plugged in the ethernet cable and let windows search for an updated driver bill thought my driver was just fine.
so my question is
is there a freeware-shareware-pay moneyware utility that will check the integrity of the card? are there other things i can do to check it on my own?
all reponses welcome and appreciated
thanks in advance,
T-Rex

RE:wifi card
I don't know if the thinkpad utils has anything like that, but I would recommend uninstalling the card, removing it from the system, rebooting, and then replace and reinstall the card (I've had such an issue before) You could also try it in another laptop if you have one that can run mini-pci. Also, make sure that the antennas are connected all the way to the card. I'd say to try running it off the Ubuntu live cd, but I don't recall if your card is compatible in live mode. You can Google it if you get desperate.
Sorry about the rushed response as I'm leaving for work.
Hope this helps,
Truk

The card is at the bottom, in the mini-PCI slot, very easily accessible. Unscrew 2 screws and you're there.
