I've got a Plantronics bluetooth earpiece (510) that I was using with my cell phone and my last toshiba computer. I upgraded to a T61 on Vista and Vista was trying to look for a driver for the headset.
Checked with the Plantronics site and found this link..
Link
Issue: “Missing Bluetooth Drivers”
A readily repeatable problem where, when any Bluetooth headset (including Plantronics) is paired with the native Vista Bluetooth software stack, Vista malfunctions and requests a disc to be installed from the “device manufacturer”.
Products Affected:
Potentially any Bluetooth headset from any manufacturer when paired with the native Vista Bluetooth stack - including Plantronics Bluetooth headsets
This is correct - the native bluetooth stack on Vista ( developed by Broadcom) doesn't support it - but the lenovo Bluetooth stack does.
I installed from here
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-67250
and my computer is once again paired with my earpiece.
MOD EDIT: Long link modified, please use tinyurl in the future. Thanks.
