Will upgrading from 1GB to 2GB RAM give me a significant performance boost in Windows XP (32bit) ?

are you using all of your current 1GB during normal tasks?   you can check this in Task Manager under the 'Performance' tab.

if you aren't utilizing all 1GB then the answer is most likely 'no'.   otherwise 2GB will help.

Microsoft Windows love memory, the more you put in the better the performance would be. Mainly HDD access time would be less, programs will load faster and there would be significant change in battery life too.
