ATI Powerplay automatic change of power scheme on ac plug

#1 Post by lobo1978 » Mon Oct 22, 2007 12:37 pm

Hi, I have T60 with ATI X1400 and every time I plug in AC adapter the powerplay scheme changes to max performance, despite the fact that I set it to max battery scheme.
In the long run it's very annoying because I don't need full power and on performance setting the GPU is getting hotter very quickly (fan starts every 2 min.). Every time I connect the plug I have to correct the setting in powerplay...
Is it possible to lock the settings or somehow "cheat" powerplay - let it think that laptop is still on battery??

The only solution I found is to create profile and manually change it after plugging in. My T60 is very cool and quiet while on battery (the fan is idle all the time!) it would be great to cheat GPU and lock on "battery mode" to reduce heat.
