I just received my T42p KTU. I upgraded to SP2 and downloaded a bunch of Bluetooth pieces from the IBM website (unfortunately I did not take good notes...) Now I have the MS Bluetooth stack (and icon) as well as the IBM Integrated Bluetooth III radios listed on the Hardware tab of my Bluetooth Devices.
Now, I have two bluetooth icons on the taskbar and neither seems to work. Any suggestions?

I ran into this problem with my brother T40 a few weeks ago. What you have to do is update the BLUETOOTH driver again - the IBM one. Here what you have to do:
1. Go to Device Manager
2. Go to Bluetooth Devices - you should have 2 bluetooth devices: IBM and MS
3. Right click on IBM on and click on 'UPDATE DRIVER'
4. If you are on SP2, click on 'NO, NOT THIS TIME' on the Hardware Update Wizard screen then click 'NEXT'
5. Select 'INSTALL FROM A LIST OR SPECIFIC LOCATION (ADVANCE)' then 'NEXT'
6. Select 'DON'T SEARCH. I WILL CHOOSE THE DRIVER TO INSTALL' then 'NEXT'
7. (THIS IS IMPORTANT) Uncheck 'SHOW COMPATIBLE HARDWARE'.
8. Once you unchecked 'Show Compatible Hardware'. You will see '3' IBM Bluetooth Drivers. The first TWO will have to date of the driver, one is 2003 and the latest one will be 2004. DO NOT SELECT EITHER ONE OF THEM. You HAVE to select IBM BLUETOOTH driver that does NOT have the date list. Select that one and let OS update the driver.
9. It should get rid off MS driver one and 'MY BLUETOOTH NETWORK' icon should work now.
I ran into this problem and called IBM tech twice about this. No one at IBM tech support that I spoke with seems to know how to fix this. One of them even told me that I can NOT install SP2. Another one suggested me to update BIOS and REINSTALL OS again!!!! IBM tech is useless!!!!
Let me know if it still does not work.
