Need new CD drive for T-22

Just as I was ready to go buy a new T-42...my T-22 is probably getting jealous and decided to stop reading CD's!

I am not sure what is wrong with it...simply not reading CD's, yet I can hear it spinning when a disc is insterted..

If I cannot fix it easily, it would be a good time to upgrade to a CD/RW/DVD drive...

Anybody know where I should get one...part numbers?

I believe that any of the Ultrabay 2000 devices will fit your T22 laptop. However, IBM has a good web page that automatically checks for compatible devices. Go here IBM webpage and then have it automatically scan for accessories. You will get a list of compatible storage drives. Choose the device you want, then copy that product number. Go to Ebay, search for the product number, and shop for your upgrade. Ebay is great place to pick up new or used but still good devices at reasonable prices Example

There are several versions of IBM's Ultrabay--2000, enhanced, slim, etc. If you are contemplating puchasing a new T42 which has Ultrbay Slim, you may want to buy an Ultrabay Slim device and the Ultrabay 2000 slim adapter for your T22. This way you can use the storage device in your new machine when you upgrade. Good luck.
