Business next day warranty till end of year??

#1 Post by geluidsgolf » Wed Oct 24, 2007 9:26 pm

Now I spoke with one of the helpdesk people of IBM and we where talking about warranty.. He told me that if for instance your warranty ends in August 2007 you will still have warranty till the end of 2007 because they never know when the machine was shipped to a shop and when you picked it up...

Is there anybody that can confirm this?

thanks alot

At least in the USA you would have to have your sales receipt to prove purchase date if you believe your warranty should extend past the date given on the website.

In Germany; if according to their system the warranty has expired, they require you to prove otherwise before accepting a "later" purchase date.

Certainly not the case in the US - just look at some recent posts of people who were a couple of days out of warranty and had to eat their repair costs!
