T40 freezes with java/flash??

#1 Post by iiiluisiii » Thu Oct 25, 2007 12:04 am

Before anything..t40 specs are :1.5ghz Pentium M, 1 gig of ram, 120 gig hdd, dvd rom

Okay so i had an 80 gig hdd that i think i killed when i put my laptop in my trunk..forgot it was in there (thought it was in the back seat) and played some loud music and the laptop was right next to 2 12 inch subs..im pretty sure the vibrations killed that hdd.

But before i killed the hdd the laptop would always freeze when downloading LOTS of files on frostwire..so i got on frostwire forums and found a solution.. The solution was to lower the amount of files being downloaded and it worked..

Then some myspace pages would crash my laptop..those with those flash music players and lots of youtube videos..i would be forced to reboot and i tried the same pages again..boom..crash.. So i tried again but with Firefox...got through okay...

So now i have a new 5400 rpm western digital 120 gig hdd... I was just downloading a large amount of files with utorrent and they were going pretty fast..and at the same time i was browsing youtube and boom... The computer crashed

My question is this... could it be a hardware issue? or a software issue.. the computer never crashed when playing FS2004 or other games where it needs to stream data off the hdd (gta, Driver ect) ..or browsing non flash/java sites.. and even when it does crash its pretty rare.. Also the computer never crashed when downloading files at high speeds without any java or flash open.

Could this be an issue with transfering large amounts of data causing java/flash to crash? Im hoping thats all it is.
Thanks to all in advance
