Has anyone else encountered this kind of problem:
In the office I've got a ThinkPad T42 that I keep in a Dock II during the day (and I lock the ThinkPad in a file cabinet at night).
During the past few weeks I've occasionally experienced a blue screen in XP with the TP in the dock. When I try to restart the machine, the boot process gets as far as the TP password icon, and then doesn't even begin to boot Windows - nothing but a blank black screen after I enter the TP password.
If I then remove the TP from the dock and start it up, it boots normally. And it then continues to boot normally when I put it back in the dock -- until I get another blue screen, apparently at random.
This has now happened twice in the past couple of weeks, each time in exactly the same way.
Does this sound like something's gone wrong in the Dock II? Or somewhere else? Is there anything I should do next time it happens to see if I can find a cause?
Many thanks for any advice.
