ThinkPad R61, Playing video problem .... Screen Blinking ...

Hi everybody,

I've an Lenovo ThinkPad R61 8918-5WG, and i've update my graphics driver to my laptop, but, if i want view an video at full screen mode (with WMP11; WMP10, VLC) the screen is blinking at the bottom .... (grey bare blinking)

Screen Blinking, only in full screen mode !!!

Can you help me please !!

i have the same problem, but it doesn't happen every time. some help would be nice

You can see, the blinking screen, only in the fullscreen mode :(

Make sure you're using DMA mode for IDE ATA / ATAPI controllers [in the advanced settings of Primary and Secondary channels] in the Device Manager of Windows.

Are you using any 3rd party codecs? Does it only happen while watching movies or are you experiencing any other problem generated by the gpu?

I have the same problem... using different video drivers from www.laptopvideo2go.com

is there any solution for this?

I use k-lite codec pack - I don't have this problem at the desktop computer with the same codecs.

Try using drivers provided by lenovo:

I tried - no changes

I updates my system today via Windows Update and for a while it's OK. If the problem come back I will write it here.

Hi everybody,

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad R61 8918-5QG and I have the same problem and after updates the problem is still exist. I do not have other ideas how to solve this problem. I am afraid that we must waiting for new drivers. Unless somebody has same other ideas...

i forgot about this topic :) Now it's better with the newest drivers from Windows Update and all updates. In Media Player Classic helps changing playback mode from Overlay or System mixer to VMR9 or VMR7(both renderless) in options.

i'm still experiencing this problem, no matter what the player i play the video on is. i use ffdshow for codecs, is there anything i can change in the settings to make the blinking go away?
