Output of CPU-Z ran on Z61m - how does it look like?

Hi all,

Could anyone run for me CPU-Z software on Z61m laptop with Lenovo branded memory and post here an output from SPD chip including memory timings? Many thanks.

Here is link to that software. It does not require installation:

Hi,

I am answering myself, maybe for someone that will be useful, somehow.

I had 1 GB of RAM in one module in my Z61m and I was considering memory upgrade. I ran CPU-Z software because it can read SPD data from the memory module. But it gave me nothing, no SPD data, just memory stick size.

I had to know memory details to buy a module which will work with current one.

So I opened my laptop and I found that I have 1GB module made by Hynix on Hynix chips (16 chips in total, 8 on each side, physically) and it has IBM/Lenovo FRU number 40Y8403, Hynix's description on the sticker is: 1GB 2Rx8 PC2-5300S-555-12.

I was also wanted to make sure that my new configuration will work in Dual Channel configuration. On wikipedia I found the following conditions:

- same size
- same timings
- same amount of physical chips

So I bought Kingston memory KVR667D2S5/1G on Kingston chips.

And now I am enjoying 2 GB of memory which work in Dual Channel fine ;-)

By the way: after installing new memory I ran CPU-Z once again to read SPD data from Kingston memory and... CPU-Z showed no data, just memory size. Maybe CPU-Z cannot read it properly? But, it does not matter for now, it works, so I am happy.

Cheers,
