ESET LAUNCHES ESET NOD32 ANTIVIRUS V3.0 AND ESET SMART SECURITY

Integrated Solution Couples New Version of ESET NOD32 Antivirus with Antispyware, Antispam and Firewall Features to Deliver Unprecedented Speed and Accuracy

SAN DIEGO – October 29, 2007 – ESET, the leader in proactive threat protection, today announced the introduction of ESET Smart Security, a new, integrated security solution for consumers and small-to-medium-sized businesses. It includes antivirus, antispyware, antispam and firewall features built on ESET’s award-winning advanced heuristic ThreatSense® detection system and the ESET NOD32 scanning engine. ESET Smart Security combines speed, accuracy and minimal computer system impact to deliver a significant improvement over traditional solutions in the marketplace today. It provides the industry’s highest level of accuracy and fewest false-positives through ESET NOD32 Antivirus . With significantly lower performance overhead compared to the competition, ESET Smart Security uses only 40MB of disk space and scans systems up to 30-times faster than other products..........

Availability

ESET Smart Security and ESET NOD32 Antivirus V3.0 will be available for purchase at www.eset.com as well as various Micro Center retail stores throughout the country on November 5, 2007 (for the consumer edition) and November 26, 2007 (for the business edition)........
You can find more details here from Eset.

It looks like this.

I heard Eset's personnel mentioning the following:
As long as your NOD v2.7 license is current, you can upgrade to NOD32 AV 3.0 for free. If you want the suite though you would have to pay an upgrade price.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

Hope to get more feedback on the suite. A PC mag review gave it only 3 stars. Basic Fw they said and not ral stong yet on identification and action on threats.

Check AV-comparatives.org, they'll put up results similar to the following with Eset's newer version of AV or security suite soon:

On-demand comparative.

Retrospective/ProActive Test.

Results are property of AV-Comparatives.org and directly hosted on their website. Due to legal restriction this had to be mentioned.

Personally, I've used Eset Smart Security 3.0 and have found it to be a great product so far.

Seems the firewall of the ESS has received mixed reviews... But the anti-virus part (i.e. NOD32) is definitely top-notch, AFAIK.

The 3.0 NOD32 interface is much better than 2.7. I'm satisfied with it so far.
