600* Battery replacement

#1 Post by dakos » Tue Oct 30, 2007 2:56 am

Did the regular searches and I didn't find the info I needed...

I'm looking into buying a new battery for my 600E, I see on eBay many Hi-Capcity batteries and I intend to buy one, there are many variations in the capacities and warrenties of them.
The more common onse are 4400mAh and the higher capacities go up to 5000mAh. Warrenties go from 3 monthes to one year.

Doe's Anyone have any expirience with these batteries and can varify that they are indeed high capacity Vs the original 3200mAh??

Can anyone recommend an eBay seller for these batteries?

Thank you

I bought a "refurbished" 600 series battery from the ebay user "strengthlaptops". The one I bought was listed as a 3200mah capacity, but I have a feeling the replacement cells are the higher capacity ones. For $19.99 (shipping included) I got a battery that lasts for over 3 hours in my 600x. I don't see any listed in his name right now, but it may be worth a quick email. When I won the auction last month they still had 24 left. I couldn't find a better deal and I couldn't be happier with the battery I received.

I had an opposite experience with the seller vchoice who advertised 5000mAh batteries. They read 3500mAh using MobileMeter and last about 2 hours 15 minutes in a PC Doctor rundown test. This is after two complete discharge/charge cycles.

OK, so were down to these last three, all claim to be 4400mAh:

Battery 1
Warrenty: 1 year.
Price: 40$ shipped.
Cell type: LG or SANYO cells.
Candian seller.

Battery 3
Warrenty: 9 monthes.
Price: No "Buy it now" option so estimated price is about 40$.
Cell type: They don't specify the cell menufecturer but say they are of good quality.
American seller

Battery 2
Warrenty: 6 montes.
Price: 38$ shipped.
Cell type: They don't specify the cell menufecturer.
American seller

I belive the 5000mAh+ statements by some sellers are false exept may be Battery 4
Warrenty: 3 monthes.
Price: 40.50$ shipped.
Cell type: Not specified.
American seller.

So my choice would be Battery 1 or bet my chances on Battery 4, any suggestions?
