Battery Meter off?

#1 Post by superman_06 » Thu Nov 01, 2007 6:58 pm

Well the T23, I have been working on.... IS UP AND RUNNING, I am posting from it.

The strangest thing the battery meter (both WinXp and thinkpads) is going for somewhere around 73% to 2%... and when it is charging it goes from 15% to 100%.... Anyone had this problem?

The battery may be dead... Did you try a replacement?

Notebook Hardware Control

You can always try an alternate program like Notebook Hardware Control. But I agree I think your battery may be pooched, depending on how long it lasts unplugged from the power outlet source.

The battery will last for about 45 mins to an hour.. while I am using it..... then It will go from 70 something % and then it will be like 2% and start beeping saying low battery. I have been on my battery for about 10 mins right now. It shows 98% and if I take the cursor over the battery indicator it says there should be 3:55 hrs left. Any ever ran accross this problem?

Notebook Hardware Control

Well that sounds pretty standard usage time for an old battery however the battery indicator bar, I am not familiar with the jump like that, my 1300i lasts about an hour and half, the battery goes down normaly, but when I hold the mouse over it, it tells me the incorrect time remaining for my battery, that number is based on a brand new battery. Uninstall the battery tool you use and use the program "Notebook Hardware Control", its a free download. It monitors battery life, CPU temp, HDD temp, CPU load.

I have it running on all my laptops instead of the IBM Battery Maximizer. Let me know how that works out for you.

It sounds like one of the cells in your battery is shot, hence the sudden drop in life (73% to 2% and ) and the ability to recharge quickly.
