Dirty LCD

#1 Post by jrv331 » Sat Nov 03, 2007 11:14 am

My A31's LCD screen has some "blotches" on it, there not scratches, just looks like dirt. Cant really see them when the computer is on. Ive tried cleaning the LCD with solutions from Best Buy and the outside looks clean, so it tells me it must be behind the screen.

Does this sound like the back of the LCD is dirty or a bigger issue? Is there a way of cleaning the inside of the screen?
Thanks

I'd think that if it was dirt inside, you'd see it very well when the computer is on and displaying a bright picture, but you wouldn't be able to see it when it's off. Yours seems to behave in the opposite way. Are you sure they are not outside?

I have cleaned the screen several times using various screen products and I can still see them and only when the LCD is off. Now it might be that with the screen on they are still there but even with a bright white background I cant see them.
Thanks
John

What if dirt is behind the screen? Is there a way to clean them?

Yeah - disassemble.

Yeah - disassemble.
Is it like changing the light bulb? Do I have the risk of getting dead pixels?
