My A31p's LAN connection is very slow. The physical adapter is a CDC ethernet card marked as 26P8181.
I have reinstalled WinXPPro, with SP2 and all the latest updates. I also installed the network drivers from the IBM website.
The Windows device manager shows the card as an Intel PRO/100 VE. The link speed and duplex is set to 100MBPS/full duplex. Driver version is 6.4.14.0 which corresponds to the latest driver on the IBM site.
If I remove this card and install a miniPCI 3COM 509 card, network performance returns to normal.
Is it likely to be a driver problem, or should I replace the 26P8181 card with a new/used one ?
Any suggestions are welcome.
