I'm running an x61s with vista ultimate 64bit and the x6 ultrabase. My keyboard is just a standard el cheapo USB keyboard from best buy, and my mouse is a standard logitech usb mouse that I've had for several years.
When I boot with the mouse and keyboard connected to the dock, everything works fine (including some special buttons on the keyboard like volume adjustment, sleep, etc).
However, sometimes when I get into windows I'll get the "find drivers for your usb keyboard" or "find drivers for your ps2/usb mouse" message. If I try to locate drivers online, windows doesn't find anything, and then the device (mouse or keyboard) stops working. If I just ignore this message, everything functions as normal.
Also, if I unplug my keyboard from the dock while the system is running and then plug it back in, it doesn't work. I'll get that "find driver" message again, and whether I ignore it or try to find a driver online, the keyboard or mouse does not regain functionality. The only solution is to reboot the system, upon which everything works.
This is really frustrating... any ideas? Oh, I'm also running with UAC off in vista, if that makes a difference.
Thanks for your help.

Could be relevant threda:
If you start me up...
Turn UAC on, I heard it creates problems if you disable it after installing the drivers.
