R&R 4 required for the miniNT recovery boot?

#1 Post by technics_speak » Wed Nov 07, 2007 10:31 pm

Hi !

I have never gotten R&R to backup. Everytime I choose backup now and selec the USB device, the progress meter shows up and then thats it. ever. It won't cancel even. So, I have no problems losing it and all of it's ridiculous, protected services. One super valuable feature that I like is the ThinkVantage boot function, miniNT recovery console with internet access. IS there any way to get the latter function without any Windows services forcedly loading during normal boot? Was the R&R backup function ever known to just freeze like that, or am I just impatient?

You're being impatient, I regualrly make backups on an external USB HDD and our Network, it takes a while to complete. What I do is I leave it on at the end of the day, chat with fellows, while it completes on the Network.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.
