I inherited a Thinkpad R51 2887-W59 at work. I noticed that image rotation is not available in the configuration panel and I was using the extended desktop with a monitor turned to get more height than width.
Chipset is 82852/82855 GM/GME and driver version is 6.14.10.3943 (per Device Manager). I saw a table on an IBM or Lenovo support site that looked like this version was the latest for this model (2887). However, when I look up drivers on the Intel site, the current version is listed as PV 14.19.50.4497 for this chipset. Intel says PV 14.x supports image rotation (http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/cs-016829.htm).
Can I update to this version or is there something peculiar about the R51 that makes it incompatible? Or, does the chipset just not support rotation, but this contradicts the Intel claim above.
I did the ThinkVantage update hoping it would solve the problem but the driver version is the same.
Thanks in advance for any help on this.
