A30 volume control ......BEEP

#1 Post by sno-twister » Thu Nov 11, 2004 10:57 am

OK, I'm sure this is a simple one, but I brushed my hand across the keyboard and now when using the volume controls there is an annoying beep while the volume level is changing. What did I hit? :?

I don't know what you hit, I do know, that the volume control can be configured to beep at you when changing volume, it beeps at the relative volume you are setting.

That is exactly what it does! With each press of the volume buttons, either up or down there is an audiable beep. It did not do this before, so I must have hit a function to enable it, but I can't find what I did. It is rather annoying.........the beep as well as causing it in the first place. :?

Try Looking in the bios. I vaguely recall that the beep could be configured there.

I find the beep useful. I do not always have music playing when I raise or lower the volume. Audible feedback is IMO good.

THANKS! That was it. I don't know how it got changed, but I was able to fix it in the bios under the alarms.
