These are the discs you would have had to make yourself but they sent them instead. Lucky you!
Here is how you use them:
Boot the computer to this one

Ah, no.carbon_unit wrote:These are the discs you would have had to make yourself but they sent them instead. Lucky you!
With 6 disks, they are a Windows XP Product Recovery CD set for a ThinkPad that came equipped with Vista. For some arcane reason there is little on the disk labels to readily indicate that they are for XP. However, if you look at the disk labels, at about the 9 o'clock position (when the lettering is level) on the left hand side...... under the part number it will say "XP-P SP2" (or similar)
Lenovo has started shipping XP restore sets with at least some ThinkPad Vista installed configurations over recent weeks.... I'm not sure what the exact the criteria is for including them, maybe its all Vista models?!?
The factory Vista restore sets look quite different to the XP set, being typically comprised of 3 DVD disks, and as far as I am aware they are not supplied "in the box" with any current ThinkPad configurations.
So, you still need to make the normal Vista restore set yourself.
Cheers,
Bill B.

I didn't see where the OP said it came with Vista or XP?
It sounded like an XP recovery set from the description and while the set they send (they cover many models) is not quite the same as the ones you make yourself (they cover one model) for his purposes they are functionally identical.

I have Vista Ultimate. I will posts pictures of the discs later, because Lenovo costumer service said I should not have received any discs, and its not on my shipping label. They keep on referring me to the secret Recovery Partion. I ordered a Windows Vista Anytime Upgrade disc from CompUsa, backed up SW folder to external hard drive so I should be fine either way right?
