LCD replacement, Help!

#1 Post by micheltan » Sat Nov 10, 2007 4:34 am

I have a thinkpad t40. The LCD cracked and I got another LCD from EBay. I purchased the SXGA LCD. Installed it and it works for about 2 mins and then it starts to get blurry up until I can't see anything anymore. It is as though when the LCD gets hot it gets worst. The pictures move back and forth. I've tried everything. I've tried to uninstall and install drivers; it doesn't help. Could it be the cable is bad? Please advise. Thanks in advance.

Assuming you went from an XGA to SXGA+ LCD panel, then changing the 1) cable and 2) inverter is also required.

If you swapped the entire lid assembly, which would include all the right parts, and you are still having this issue, then something is bad with either of the three components.

P.S. Sorry about the upgrade problem, but at least you found a great forum, welcome!

Thank you! It's great to belong in a helpful forum.

As for my problem, would the cable, inverter, or the LCD cause the problem that I am having? It does work, but like for 2 mins after 2 mins I get this problem.
