how to repair mulfunction KDE in opensuse 10.3?

#1 Post by mike20030405 » Sat Nov 10, 2007 8:47 pm

Guys you can see my original post here:

My KDE is dead, but gnome is fine. Is it possible to repair the KDE in some ways?

Thanks a lot!

Didn't post a solution in the other thread... but when KDE probably crashes and returns you to the console.
From the console:

1. Login as root
2. write: rpm -e *thinkfinger
3. If you got no messages, it uninstalled fine. Restart the machine.

It seems as if the problem could be caused also by the fact that STM is not making the fingerprint reader in the T61p... At least it's a problem with the R61:

I would go into your home partition and rename your ~/.kde folder to ~/.kde1 and then try restarting KDE.
