wtf... another BSOD

#1 Post by K. Eng » Thu Nov 11, 2004 11:16 pm

I had a couple BSODs last year that I traced to Windows problems solved in SP2. I thought I was home free.

Well today I was typing in Microsoft Word, and not doing anything else, when suddenly I got a BSOD. Before I could write down the error info, my T40 rebooted.

Windows error reporting says that it could only log that the error was a driver problem. I don't know what it could possibly be, since I haven't changed my drivers since I did updates to ensure SP2 compatibility (Late August or so).

Anyone else getting a wierd BSOD while typing in Microsoft Word 2000?

Most of the IBM drivers for the T machines have changed since September. I am using Word 2003 now, and when I first converted to SP2, I was using Word 2002. But right now, with all the newest IBM drivers and BIOS, the machine seems happy enough. ... JDHurst

I highly recommend using ChangeNotes to stay up to date on all drivers efficiently. Use their free service to keep an eye on the page that lists all updated drivers for your particular machine and let it do the leg work for you.

I've been using it for years and am very pleased.
