I rebooted my computer today and got this error. The fan seems totally dead (doesn't spin). I opened the case to spray all the gunk out hoping that it was just stuck, but it still doesn't spin.
I assume this means I have to replace the fan.
I read some of the posts here which helped a lot and I think I can figure out how to do it myself, but I'm not sure what the exact part number is.
Here is what is on the fan:
FRU Fan GL # 13R2657
My laptop is a T42p, type 2378, model RVU
I looked at the IBM site and found that this corresponded to "Long" and "M10" Is that all I need to tell someone?
Also, anyone know where I can get the fan (same day) in San Francisco?
Fan error
Contact a member (dealer) here Dimitri_P. He will have what you want or can tell you where to get it. He's in the San Francisco area.
