X60 Tablet - Cannot undock - LPT 1

#1 Post by IndyKid » Wed Nov 14, 2007 7:00 am

I am running Vista Business on a X60 tablet and most of the time when I try to undock I get the following error...

"You cannot eject your computer because one of the devices in the
docking station, Printer Port LPT1 cannot be stopped a program is
still accessing it."

What could be causing this? It is very frustrating to reboot every time I want to undock.

A simple fix (useful only if you don't actually use the parallel port) would be to disable the parallel port in your BIOS, or ThinkPad Configuration utility.

If you actually use the printer port, then there's an application that was probing or otherwise accessing the port, that didn't "clean up after itself" properly. It may also be a device driver or some application at startup. I can't think of anything off-hand that has this behaviour, though.

Check Microsoft Knowledge Base. I suggest you do Windows Update as well.

Also try using EasyEject utility from lenovo.
