External Floppy Drive for 600x

#1 Post by dbarnwell » Wed Nov 14, 2007 2:25 pm

Is there any way you can connect a IBM PN# 10H3980 IBM FRU number 10H4056 external floppy drive to a 600x? What I asking do they make a cable for that drive other than IBM PN 46H8096 FRU 74H0219.

Thanks in advance :(

Welcome to the forum!

See the FAQs here, especially "Where can I find ____ about ____?"

Without looking at HMM's (which you can do yourself), the floppy that came with my 600X can be removed from the external bay and used in the UltraSlimBay of any 600 Series, and I think as well in the 570's UltraBase.

In the external floppy case, it can be used on any 600, 570 or 560, and maybe a few others. So floppies from some other ThinkPads will work on the 600X.

You should look at parts matrices and HMM's for exact details.
