390X
390X
Ok i just bought a Tp 390X off eBay for 40 bucks. Got it today turned it on and works like a champ. P3 450 mhz, 64 mb ram and a 10 gig HD. Was originally described as for parts but it works fine, now to my question. It has a combo pack cdrom/floppy, the system only recognizes the floppy and not the cdrom, how come? Is there something im supposed to push, pull or somethin for it to acess the cdrom?

As far as I know the 390 should just recognize the drive once plugged in. I'd assume it is defective.

do yourself a favour and upgrade to win me,it will support all flash drives + other modern devices without the need to resort to plug n play methods.
as much as i liked w98se,nowadays with modern devices its far easier to set em up if you run the newer os.
i run the ol trusty tp765d on win me and havent looked back ever since, only critera, had to run the ess solo audio card on that machine, but with the 390x your in much better shape.
