R40 and memory upgrade.

#1 Post by Béèm » Thu Nov 15, 2007 8:30 pm

I look for upgrading memory and saw the mem module is PC2100
PC2100 starts to be scarce and more expensive.
Someone told me I could use PC3200 also f.e. as long as the module was DDR.
Any thoughts on this?
Will it work?

PC3200 is backward compatible for PC2100.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

Thank you, I suppose that the PC3200 then runs at the lower speed of the PC2100.

Correct.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.
