Thinkpad X60 UK issues

#1 Post by ravi_s » Fri Nov 16, 2007 2:02 am

I have a X60 with a 8 cell battery and I need to buy a compact case for it much like the many avaiable in the US. I'd really rather not pay the $40 or so freight that most US companies charge to get it over to the UK so is anyone in the UK aware of any cases that fit the X60t + 8 cell battery snugly? I dont really want to get a 14" or 15" case and have it rattling around inside it!!

Also, I recently downloaded and 'upgraded' the BIOS to 1.11 and have noticed immediately that my batterly life has gone down to around 4 hrs. I have the following switched off:
Firewire, Modem, card slots, IR, Wifi on minimum power, power on Maximum battery and brightness on 3.
Even with all this stuff off, it's still consuming 13 to 15W and this exact same setup used to only consume 7 to 8w tops!
Is there any way I can downgrade the 1.11 bios to 1.10 as I cant even seem to find the old 1.10 files anywhere anymore.

Google is your friend.....

There seem to be quite a few similar sites too!

Thanks, but all these (and I've found them before via Google) are standard laptop proportions so the only way to get one to fit the X60 with an extended battery is to buy a case for a 15" laptop! I really didn't want to go down this route.
The laptop with the battery installed measures 11" X 11" X 1.5" so it's too deep for most slipcases for 12" screened laptops.

I don't think so, regular 14" laptop case just working fine on my X61 T with 8 Cell battery.

Perhaps you need to take a more careful look at all that is on offer... or else pay the shipping charges associated with getting what you perceive you need!
