Is my T30 dead?

#1 Post by Greg Robinson » Fri Nov 16, 2007 2:07 pm

Hi gang. I have a T30, model 2648-8AU and the screen has gone dark. When it boots, I can JUST make out the Thinkpad logo and then I can JUST make out the Windows logo while it boots but then it's too dark and I can't see anything, inc where the cursor is. The spotlight works and it's plenty bright, so I think the backlight is fine. (Right?) A few weeks ago, I bought a new inverter board (I think that's the name - narror board running along base of display) and swapped THAT out - same result. Wondering what else I can check/do. Maybe a ribbon cable or something like that? THANKS for any suggestions!

your backlight in the LCD has gone dead. The laptop being older these things do happen. There was a guy on here in the marketplace mentioned about CCFL Replacements.
