Possibly newbie quetion - how to reinstall MS Office?

#1 Post by Mgbrown » Fri Nov 16, 2007 5:12 pm

Hello everyone,

I have been searching around for the answer to this question for some time now. I might be missing something very basic.

When I first received my x61, I am fairly certain it came pre-installed with Microsoft Office. I installed XP Pro for a month, but decided I wanted to go back to Vista to become more familiar with the platform.

I was easily able to reinstall Vista; however, I can't for the life of me find out how to reinstall Microsoft Office.

Is it on the R&R partition at all? Thanks in advance, apologies if this is easily searched for - I tried, I swear!

My Z60T came with Office XP installed and when I did a R&R it disappeared. I checked the box the Z60T came in and found the actual install disc for Office XP with the serial number.

You do realize that Microsoft 2007 was merely a 60 or 90 days trial version.

Check in C:\SWTOOLS or C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office (if it exists ofcourse).
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

Ah, I see. That would definitely explain the situation.

It is not under SWTools> Apps, nor was there a CD in the box. Must have been a trial install. Thanks much for your responses, I own 2003 so I'll just give that a whirl.
