Lenovo Battery Site

I have gone to the Lenovo site to buy another battery for my x61T but there is NOT ONE LISTED there. What has happened? I even tried looking under the X60 systems and none listed there as well.

While in CA this week, a friend of mine who also has the exact same system as mine, X61T model 7764-CTO, had purchased a battery that snaps onto the bottom of the computer, and causes it to tip slighty forward toward the user, making it really easy to use the keyboard. I understand that's not the actual function of the battery, but I really liked it.

When I looked at the battery, we both noticed no model numbers on it. Kind of strange, but I wanted to get this for myself. I have the 8 and 4 cell battery, but this is one that I would keep on my computer at all times.

Anyone know the issue here with Lenovo site not being able to show the batteries available?

Their site may be having problems, or they may be out of batteries right now.

There is a stock problem from the back end, especially for the 8-cell version. Few members here have also reported it.

Your best bet is to call 1-866-96-THINK to check the latest availability, the marketing part number you require is 40Y8318. Please also keep in mind that the 8-cell battery for non tablet X6x machines does not fit X6x tablet PC's due to different architecture and mass of fan construction on both machines that leads engineers to no choice other than to remodel the whole structure of the batteries for above mentioned machines.
