HD corrupt under Vista?

#1 Post by Marin85 » Mon Nov 19, 2007 7:26 am

Hi,
when trying to launch system restore under Vista I got following message: "Unexpected failure: the syntax for the file names, archive names or date storage device name is incorrect. (0x8007007B). The System Restore is now closed." Does it mean that a part of my HD has become corrupt?
I´ve recently deleted the hidden partition (no clean install of Vista) and resized the main one using Acronis Disk Director Suite 10. Of course, I´ve uninstalled R&R before and then just followed the guide of Lemmuel..
Another thing that I experience is that some features of the Hotkey Features disappear after rebooting. By now I could fix this by reinstalling them. For Fn+F7 though I had to additionally reinstall the Presentation Director. I´m not sure if this would solve the problem, and speaking honestly I´m afraid it won´t. We will see...
Any help will be appreciated!

Cheers

Your HDD is fine. Set the settings as explained in the following document:

How resolve the error 0x8007007B when I run System Restore in Microsoft® Windows Vista?

Set it to protect Windows Vista boot drive.

With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.
