CTO launched by lenovo Canada

The option was always available before but for large enterprise only, today it has been launched for consumers but still is in a development stages.

Lenovo Canada
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

I don't see this option anywhere on the site, or maybe it's well hidden...when I choose the ThinkPad T series, for example, there are only two choices (both T-61) and there's no more "configure to order" capability than there was in the past. They don't even list French keyboard models anymore, and it doesn't look like you can change the operating system (I've been using Vista on my new ThinkCentre A61e for a month and have pretty much come to the conclusion that I can't use it for work, it's just not compatible with some of the programs and tools I use everyday).

It's in development stages, I heard it will look like lenovo.com very soon.

Well, it changes every few days but the incremental improvements are so minor it's still worse than what they had before introducing CTO. The least they could do is announce what will be available when it's finally up -- I've been waiting months on the hope that a 14" SXGA+ screen will be an option and will be sorely disappointed if after such a wait, it never appears.
