DVI-D cable on T42

I am trying to max the performance of my external monitor(DELL 2407),I bought replicator II and DVI-D cable last week.Today I just got the DVI-D cable from ebay(http://cgi.ebay.com/6FT-DVI-D-DUAL-LINK ... dZViewItem), but it looks not quite nice from the appearance:(
I wonder if the quality of cable itself does matter the quality of signal between my T42 and DELL 2407 monitor? or even worse than using VGA cable?

The DVI image is supposed to be better defined. In your case I'd assume it's caused by the cable.
