Access Connections - Extracting WPA Key?
Access Connections - Extracting WPA Key?
Is it possible to extract the WPA key from a profile in access connections? I'm going to be staying in a hotel that I previously went to that sells unlimited internet access restricted by a WPA key. I still have the network info saved on my Thinkpad, but I'm hoping not to have to bring it on this trip, as its video card is fairly inadequate. Does anyone know of a way to extract the WPA key from the laptop?
Thanks
Thanks

If you are not going to bring your laptop, you are not going to need that WPA-key. And if you do, you don't seem to have honorable intentions.
As this smells of possible theft (the hotel sells unlimited internet access), I don't think you'll find an answer here...

well i guess maybe he wants to give pay once and give it to all his buddies which isn't honorable either but something that one might be expected to do.
Anyways, aren't those deals locked to MAC addresses too? granted you can spoof MAC address fairly easily but at the sametime you can get the key since it's stored in the registry. You can get software that reads the key and outputs a text file. I was at my friends house and she forgot her WEP/WPA key so couldn't share it and her dad had password locked the router so i just got the key from her machine so i could use her net while i was there (with her permission ofcourse)

Um ... the last mid-range hotel I stayed at (Fairfield Inn, Killeen, TX), the wifi was free, as was the high speed Internet in the room. As I was in a room almost directly above and to the side of the lobby, I could reach their lobby/continental breakfast area Wifi AP pretty well.
But every night the concierge (lovely Texas girls) gave me a custom WPA code which lasted for 24 hours. Compliments of the house, one of several standard amenities.
I'm frankly surprised that your hotel doesn't provide free wifi. My suggestion, therefore, is find a new hotel to stay at. Or, if you're pulling a subterfuge on us, find a new forum to get WPA hacking answers.
