S3tray2 - S3 Video Files & Drivers on ATI X31?

In pruning out some startup items and services, I noticed that my new X31 loads a file S3tray2.exe at startup.

This program runs from the system tray and allows you to configure you video on a system with S3 Video hardware.

As I understand the literature, the X31s all have ATI video chipsets.

Why is this file and other S3 files even on my system?
