Anyone polished T40 cover?

My T40 cover looks gray and like it has got too much sun or something. Anyone polished it with plastic polish or etc?

I was actually thinking of purchasing a top from ebay and experimenting with it. I would like a glossy black top screen cover.

There was a small number (2?) of sub-notebooks prepared by IBM for the APAC market, which I got to look at in the Director lab (RTP) when I was there -- they had glossy, Japanese lacquered lunchbox looks to them. They were ... in a word ... gorgeous.

If you do achieve a glossy black look, please post a DIY thread about the steps you took to achieve it. With pics, too, please.
