Access Connections signal icon not working right

#1 Post by cshuttle » Sat Nov 24, 2007 10:41 pm

I was unsure of which forum to throw this into, so I chose this one...anywho, I've got a t61p with the WWAN.

Running in XP, I get the signal strength indicator in the toolbar for the WLAN connections but not for the WWAN connections. You know, the little icon that indicates the connection signal strength, etc. I never realized how much I used this for the WWAN until it went missing once I upgraded from Vista.

Now, the connection works correctly when connection to WLAN, but shows no signal strength at all when connected to WWAN. (Just like this little guy, Image). Curiously enough, this worked very well in Vista.
So, now, I'm faced with two options. Either:
  1. I find a way to make this icon work with access connections, which I'd love to do, since it's nice and integrated and all that other stuff, or
  2. I find a way to disassociate the WWAN from access connections and use the Verizon software instead.
Either way, I need some direction here: should I open a support call? Will they simply tell me to uninstall and reinstall access connections (which I've done about 3 times now), etc.?

TIA!

It's not clear from your post, each interface needs to be enable in the properties area. Have you enabled it for the WWAN?

Enabled in the properties area? Access connections has control over it, so I presume that it's enabled...right?
