T41 rescue & Recovery ?

Just a simple question about the Rescue & Recovery option on a T41 Laptop. Have a T41 previously used at a business that has Windows XP Passords and company data on it.
Is it advisable to just run Rescue & Recovery to reload the factory defaults and get rid of the additional company information and applications or should I run some sort of Disk Wiping software and reload the OS from the Recovery CD's?
I guess my main question is will running Rescue & Recovery to reload wipe out the previous owner data?

It sure will. It will return the machine to be just like it shipped from the factory.
