Help me pick some MSFT software?

#1 Post by nikemen » Wed Nov 28, 2007 3:04 pm

So, I got an offer for a Microsoft usability study, with a free MSFT product.

Cannot decide which to pick, since I NEED all these items, but know that some can be had for less.

I NEED VISIO, I NEED PROJECT and I NEED OFFICE 2007

Retail pricing is 559$, 599$, 499$, for the items above, but they are free for me but I can only pick one.

Can any be bought at better prices while others cannot? I should pick the one for which the actual street price to me in the end is the HIGHEST
Any thoughts?

Office 2007 Ultimate can be had for $59.95 if you are a college student. Visio and Project are usually available for free if you are enrolled in a college with MSDNAA.

If you are out of school, then I think you should find out which verson of Office they are offering. If you are getting Office Ultimate, I say you take it, since you will probably use it a lot more than the other two.

I have seen the office ultimate for students, thought it was 69$, but what is 10$, I'm still not a student :-(

I do need all of these programs at some point, the one I can get is I think Office Professional, 2007 so not ultimate.

In my expereince, generally there are more opportunities to get Office 2007 at reduced cost (thorough various promotional schemes) than there are for Visio or Project, so I'd hold off on taking Office 2007 as the freebie and get whichever of the other two you need most!

Cheers,
